You might recognize a few of these
- You can get through a whole evening together without saying anything that isn't logistics.
- The same fight keeps coming back, wearing a slightly different outfit each time.
- One of you carries all the planning, and it has quietly curdled into resentment.
- You're the one thinking about the relationship, and you're genuinely not sure they are.
- Things are perfectly civil. That's the part that worries you.
Who's behind the quiz
Hearten Therapy is a group of relational therapists working virtually with adults and couples across Illinois, Ohio, and New Mexico. We built the practice in 2021 around a simple idea: therapy should feel human and actually help, not just hand you a worksheet of coping skills.
Our team works with couples at every stage, from partners who are dating and building something new, to long-together couples moving through a hard season. We combine real clinical depth with warmth, humor, and a genuine respect for whatever brought you here. This quiz is built on the four patterns we see most often in that work.
You don't need a crisis to begin. Sometimes you just need to name the pattern.
Which one is showing up for you?
Two minutes, eight questions, and a short video from your therapist at the end.
What's Your Relationship Pattern? This quiz is educational and is not a clinical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment. It cannot tell you what is happening in your relationship, and it is not a substitute for working with a licensed therapist.
